Trakian Cymbals Warranty Policy

1. Warranty Periods

We offer a tiered warranty system based on the specific structural characteristics of our cymbal series:

Series / CategoryWarranty Duration
Professional Series (Ares, Artemis, Black Shadow, White Shadow, Raw, Phokaia, Scrape, Traditional)24 Months (2 Years)
Splash & FX Cymbals (All Splash models and Hollow FX series)12 Months (1 Year)

Note: The warranty is valid from the original date of purchase and applies only to the original purchaser with a valid receipt.

2. What is Covered (Manufacturing Defects)

A warranty replacement is granted when a cymbal fails due to a defect in material or workmanship. These issues typically surface within the first few hours of use when the metal is under initial stress.

A. Radial Bow Cracks

Cracks that appear vertically in the middle of the cymbal (the "bow") and do not touch the edge or the center hole. These are physically impossible to cause through hitting technique and are considered direct manufacturing faults.

B. Lathe-Line Cracks

Cracks that develop parallel to the tonal grooves (lathe lines). This indicates that the structural integrity was compromised during the lathing process. These cracks usually follow the circular path of the grooves.

C. Delamination

Due to our B20-Pure alloy standards, this is rare, but if the metal layers separate (causing a "dead" sound) or if the metal peels at the edges, it is covered as a casting defect.

3. What is NOT Covered (User Errors)

Most cymbal damage occurs when the instrument is played beyond its "peak volume" capacity or through improper setup. The following are not covered:

A. Edge Cracks

Cracks starting from the outer edge and moving inward. This is a result of hitting the edge directly with a "chopping" motion or dropping the cymbal.

Tip: Use "glancing blows" to allow energy to dissipate across the entire surface.

B. Keyholing

The elongation of the center hole into an oval shape. This is caused by metal-on-metal contact due to missing or worn plastic sleeves on your cymbal stand. This is a maintenance issue, not a production fault.

C. Spider Cracks (Bell Cracks)

Small cracks radiating from the center hole. These occur when the wing nut is over-tightened, preventing the cymbal from vibrating freely. The energy gets trapped at the bell and fatigues the metal.

D. Nicks and Missing Pieces

Cymbals with missing chunks or visible dents on the edges are ineligible for warranty. These indicate that the cymbal was either dropped or played long after a crack had already formed.

4. How to Make a Warranty Claim (RMA Process)

If you believe your Trakian cymbal has a manufacturing defect, please follow these steps:

  1. Gather Documentation: You will need your original sales receipt/invoice and the cymbal’s serial number.

  2. Take High-Resolution Photos: * One photo of the full cymbal.

    • One close-up of the damaged area.

    • One photo of the Trakian logo and serial number.

  3. Email Us: Send the information to [email protected] with the subject line: Warranty Claim - [Your Name / Order Number].

The Evaluation Process

  • Initial Review: Our production team will analyze your photos to determine the nature of the crack.

  • Shipping: If pre-approved, you will be asked to ship the cymbal to our factory or local distributor. Shipping costs to the factory are the responsibility of the customer.

  • Final Decision: If the claim is approved, a replacement will be shipped to you within 10-15 business days at our expense. If rejected, a detailed technical explanation will be provided.

5. Maintenance Tips for Longevity

  • Always use plastic sleeves and felts on every cymbal stand.

  • Do not over-tighten wing nuts. The cymbal should swing freely.

  • Play "through" the cymbal, not "at" it. Use a glancing motion rather than a direct perpendicular hit to the edge.

  • Transport your cymbals in a padded bag or hard case to prevent edge nicks.
